Why subscribe?

I’m a higher education scholar and administrator who has been employed by four universities across 30 years. I have a doctorate in Australian higher education financing policy, and long term interests on student equity, specifically disability.

Since starting this SubStack I’ve been surprised by people not only subscribing, but pledging their support. This is gratifying, but I’m writing primarily for myself.

However, if you subscribe it will allow me to align with what I know of the audience. So please subscribe and share, and don’t be shy with the comments. My personal commitment that the only time there will be the hard sell of paid subscriber paywalls is if Generative AI takes my job and I go broke (unlikely), or SubStack makes it a requirement (who knows how terms and conditions might change).

The views in this SubStack are my own personal comments informed by my research and scholarship into higher education and are not to be interpreted in any way as representing an organisation for which I may have, or have had, an affiliation.
